Fresno County – An Illegal Alien Accused of Murder and Dismembering Victim

On Friday, April 5th, an 18-year-old from Mendota was arrested by homicide detectives with the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office. He has been charged with one count of murder and is currently being held in the Fresno County Juvenile Justice Campus. Due to his age, his name is being withheld as he navigates the juvenile court system, with the possibility of being tried as an adult looming.

The arrest stems from an incident on January 17th, 2024, when deputies found a car abandoned in an orchard near Mendota, with the body of 25-year-old Fraylee Hernandez inside. The victim had been brutally dismembered. The investigation led detectives to the suspect, who was 17 at the time of the murder but turned 18 in February. The suspect, an illegal alien from El Salvador with a history of violence, including assaulting his own mother.
